For US and UK bookkeepers

Monthly client reports, under your firm's brand

Monthfold turns your clients' QuickBooks numbers into a clear monthly report with your logo and colors. You review and approve it, and your client receives it from you. One flat price per firm, however many clients you have.

  • Unlimited clients
  • Your name, not ours
  • Nothing sent without your approval

The problem

Client reporting costs you twice

Your clients want to understand their month. Getting it to them takes either money or evenings.

Tools charge per client

$260–680 a month

That is what popular reporting tools such as Fathom charge a firm once it has a full book of clients, because the price grows with every client entity you add.

Or you build it by hand

Every month, every client

Export from QuickBooks, paste into Excel, fix the charts, save a PDF, write the email. The same steps for each client, repeated at every month-end.

How it works

Three steps at month-end

  1. Bring in the numbers

Upload a Profit and Loss by Month export from QuickBooks Online. Monthfold checks every total against the report and tells you the exact row if something is off.

  2. Review and approve

Monthfold drafts the report: headline figures, the change on last month, a trend chart and the full statement. You read it, and nothing leaves until you approve it.

  3. Your client receives it from you

The PDF and the email carry your firm's name and color. Or put a client on a monthly schedule: Monthfold drafts the report on the day you choose and waits for your approval.

Sample report

What your client sees

Written for business owners, laid out the way accountants print statements.

  • The month at a glance

Revenue, expenses and net profit, each with its change on the previous month. Changes are marked favourable or unfavourable for the business, so a rise in costs reads as a warning.

  • A trend they can follow

Revenue and net profit over the last six months, drawn to scale and in your firm's color.

  • The full statement

The Profit and Loss with sections, subtotals, negatives in parentheses and a double rule under net profit, in the account names your client already knows.

Questions

Common questions

Do my clients see Monthfold anywhere?

No. Reports and emails carry your firm's name and color, and they are sent in your name. Monthfold's name and colors do not appear in anything your clients receive.

Which accounting software does it work with?

CSV import today: you upload a Profit and Loss by Month export from QuickBooks Online. Direct QuickBooks Online and Xero connections are coming soon.

Where is my clients' data stored, and how is it protected?

All data is stored with Hetzner in data centers in the EU. Connections are encrypted, stored files are encrypted with a separate key for each firm, and each firm's data is kept apart at the database level, so no firm can see another's.

Who owns the data?

You and your clients do. We use it only to produce and deliver your reports. You can ask us to export or delete your firm's data at any time.

Can a report go out before I have checked it?

No. Every report, including scheduled ones, waits for your approval before anything is sent to a client.

How is the price calculated?

It is a flat monthly price per firm. Adding clients does not change it.
